Article Abstract:
A commonly used transport and condensation technique is employed to observe the self-assembly and organization of several 3-dimensional hierarchical heterostructures, like [Ga.sub.2][O.sub.3] and [In.sub.2][O.sub.3] nanostructures with 6-and 4-fold symmetries. The analysis shows that the simultaneous control of size and shape together leads to a possibility of growing heterostructures on nanocrystal facets, which can then be used as building blocks for several opto- and nanoelectronics.

Article Abstract:
Single crystalline tellurium (Te) nanotubes with triangular cross sections were successfully synthesized by a simple approach of vaporizing tellurium metal and condensing the vapor in an inert atmosphere onto a suitable subsrate. The facile approach to nanotubes with a triangular cross section facilitate some new applications as well as stimulate theoretical studies pertaining to the stability of this high-energy configuration.
